Blog¶
Flexoraa Lite includes a styled blog: a listing page, a post page and a comments area.
What is included¶
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Blog List template | The page that lists posts. It uses the Blog Listing module. |
| Blog Post - Classic template | The page for one post. Its look is set in the Blog layout - Classic module. |
| Blog Recent Post module | The latest posts as cards, for any page such as your home page. |
| Blog Post - Recent Post module | More posts shown below each post. |
| Blog post - Blog Comments module | The comment list and form under each post. |
Set up the blog¶
- In HubSpot, open Settings > Website > Blog and select your blog.
- Under Templates, set Listing template to Blog List and Post template to Blog Post - Classic.
- Write a post in Content > Blog. The post page picks up the settings below.
The post page¶
The post page settings live in the Blog layout - Classic module, which is global: one set of settings for every post.
- Show or hide: the back to blog link, tags, date, author, featured image, share buttons, the subscribe form and previous/next links.
- Wording: the text of each label, such as "Previous post".
- Style: background, spacing, the Layout type (it starts as a Custom width of 896 px, which sets the width of the reading column), and the look of every element.
- Cards: the subscribe form and the previous/next links each have their own Card effect.
To change it, open any post in the editor, click the post section and use the left panel.
The listing page¶
Settings are in the Blog Listing module.
- Tag filter: visitors click a tag to filter. On small screens it becomes a select box.
- Pagination: previous, next and page numbers.
- Author and tag pages: when a visitor opens an author or tag page, a header with that author or tag appears.
- Cards: columns, gap, and the look of the image, tag, date, title, description, author and the read more link. Each part has a show switch.
See the author and tag headers
On the live site these headers only show on author and tag pages. In the page editor the module shows a sample of each, so you can style them without visiting those pages.
Recent posts on other pages¶
Add Blog Recent Post to any page. Choose the blog and the number of posts. Switch the tag, author, date, title and description on or off.
Comments¶
The comments area appears under a post only when comments are turned on for the blog.
- Open Settings > Website > Blog and select your blog.
- Open the Comments tab and switch comments on. This is also where you choose moderation (approve each comment before it shows) and notification emails.
Style the comments¶
Open a post in the editor and click the comments area. The Blog post - Blog Comments module has these style groups:
| Group | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Comment title | The heading above the comments ("Comments" by default): level, weight, color and spacing. |
| Form | Form style 1 or 2, and the submit button (full width, or left, center, right). |
| Comments list | How far replies are indented, and the divider line between comments (width 0 hides it). |
| Comment author, date, text | Size, weight and color of each part. |
| Comment reply link | The "Reply" link. |
| Comment confirmation message | The message shown after someone posts a comment. |
| Layout settings | Width, the order of comments and form (Comments first or Form first), and the gap between them. |
| Card settings | Turn Card effect on to put the comment form in a card. |
Note
The comment list and form come from HubSpot. The module styles them, but the wording of the form fields ("First Name", "Submit Comment") and the confirmation text are controlled by HubSpot's comment settings.
